Nomadic Games Federation Luxembourg ASBL, Jaro Medien Gmbh and Ciné Sura Echternach present to you the most iconic band from Tuva: Huun-Huur-Tu, and Terra Incognita, an award-winning documentary about Tuva. Huun-Huur Tu is profoundly mysterious: the traditional ritual laryngeal (throat) chants of the Central Asian land of Tuva. Their unique singing technique creates an enthralling soundscape, rich in undertones and overtones. Something that is no longer a mystery, however, is the world-wide success of the Tuvan quartet HUUN-HUUR-TU, now an established name in international world music, thanks to their modern presentation of traditional laryngeal (throat) singing. In the past years, the ensemble have toured throughout the world, appearing on global stages and performing over two hundred concerts every year. For the first time in 2002, Huun-Huur-Tu placed in the pop charts: A remix of the title “Eki Attar” was Greeces’ No. 1 hit in the summer of 2002. The ensemble then went on to release a studio project entitled “Spirits of Tuva” with DJs of various nationalities. In the Autumn of 2002, that CD was No. 1 in the European World Music Charts. In the same year, in collaboration with the Swiss ensemble STIMMHORN, Huun Huur Tu produced a film for ARTE-TV, broadcast in the summer of 2003. Huun-Huur-Tu’s music was also used for a soundtrack to accompany the world-wide cinema success “Atanarjuat.”. They band toured in 2015 around the workd with over 300 concerts. Their major YouTube success can shortly after with around 5 million views the band were discovered by a new younger audience. In 2017 they released for the first time a vinyl from their premiere recording “60 horses in my herd“. In 2022, they are celebrating their Luxembourg debut in Echternach!
